WhatsApp users can look forward to four innovative features set to enhance their experience on the app. Among these updates are changes to how videos and photos are shared.
To make its platform more engaging and user-friendly, WhatsApp developers have announced the introduction of these features at the start of the year, according to a post on their blog.
Personalized Stickers: Transform Your Selfies
One standout update allows users to create personalized stickers directly within the app. “You can now turn your selfies into stickers,” the announcement reads. How does it work? Users simply tap the “Create Sticker” icon, which activates the camera. They can then take a selfie and instantly transform it into a sticker.
Customize Videos and Photos with New Tools
Another exciting addition is the ability to enhance videos and photos with 30 unique backgrounds, filters, and effects. Previously, these customization options were only available during WhatsApp video calls. This new functionality brings greater creative freedom when sharing multimedia content.
Share Sticker Packs with Ease
WhatsApp is also making it easier to share stickers with friends and family. Users who create multiple stickers can now send entire sticker packs in their chats, making communication more fun and expressive.
Enhanced Reactions to Chat Messages
The fourth feature focuses on simplifying reactions to messages. By double-tapping a message, users can now bring up a menu displaying the most commonly used reactions. This streamlined approach aims to make interactions quicker and more intuitive.
Features Rolling Out Now
These features are already being rolled out and should be available to all users soon. WhatsApp developers have also hinted at additional updates coming later this year. “We’re excited to introduce even more thrilling features throughout the year,” they shared.
Recent Improvements to Typing Indicators
In December, WhatsApp introduced an improved typing indicator. Users can now see, directly above the text input bar, when their chat partner is typing a message. Previously, this information was displayed under the contact’s name as a “typing” status.
With these updates, WhatsApp continues its mission to enhance user interaction and keep its platform dynamic and engaging.
