Recently Aslan Usoyan known as Ded Khasan - one of the most powerful crime bosses, so-called "vor v zakone" in Russia was shot in Moscow. He was only wounded. But this incident caused a lot of noise.

This case is interesting not only because of its similarity with the shooting of another "vor v zakone" - Vyacheslav Ivankov aka Yaponchik but also in light of the political processes that have been taking place recently in Russia. It is about redistributing of power and influence, and preparing for future presidential elections in the country.

As we learned from various sources, Aslan Usoyan visited Abkhazia before the attempt to assassinate him. According to some reports, he was hiding there with his friend criminals. He arranged a sort of meeting or so-called skhodka there to discuss the following issues:

1. Emergence of gangs in Moscow called Lesnie (Wahhabis from the North Caucasus, mainly from Dagestan) who are engaged in counterfeiting, contract killings, and robbery and are not paying attention to the law of the underworld. Criminal bosses are concerned that the "Lesnie" do not obey established "thief law" and if something goes slightly wrong they snatch their weapons shouting: "For the sake of Allah we will kill anybody". Also they do not pay money to so-called obshak (common fund of a criminal community) noting that have their own for their fight against infidels.

2. The second issue that was discussed at the meeting in Abkhazia concerned the situation surrounding the alleged resignation of Luzhkov. Khasan was very worried about it. Significant part of criminal money is invested in the building complex of Moscow. Khasan, as a keeper of "Slavic" share, was concerned and said at the meeting that if Luzhkov was moved, then his wife and team would be also removed from their warm positions, and then the thieves' blood money could greatly suffer. No wonder that Khasan decided to urgently resolve this matter –to save money, pull it out, etc.

This second issue is important in understanding the recent processes. As the news agency GHN reported with reference to its sources, Ded Khasan has certain connection with the Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. Usoyan who was hiding in Abkhazia from the Oniani clan, went to Moscow at the request of Luzhkov as the latter is going through quite difficult times. According to the agency it is Luzhkov, who runs almost the entire tourist business in Abkhazia and who guarantees Ded Khasan a secure life in the occupied region.

But Usoyan was shot in Moscow, and chief of Moscow police Vladimir Kolokoltsev immediately appeared at the scene. It was said that he was acting at the instructions of Luzhkov and Putin - although Kolokoltsev himself called it "a normal working process" as though all he does is examining crime scenes hot on the traces. "This was a direct request of Luzhkov, or rather plea, as the attack on Usoyan, who miraculously escaped death, could be the end of Yuri Luzhkov," - said the source of GHN.

The agency remembers that it was at the request of Luzhkov, who was considered a favourite of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin that on May 2nd, 2008 a gathering of underworld crime bosses was called where mechanisms of control of funds allocated for the Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014 were discussed. And from government circles of Russia it is Vladimir Putin who has a direct control of finances. As to the relationship between Usoyan and Vladimir Putin, according to the source, they originate from the St. Petersburg past of Putin when Ded Khasan received guarantees of immunity from the future president of Russia in exchange for some assistance. It was also noted that Usoyan earned Putin's trust and therefore it was he who was charged with monitoring the funds for the Sochi Olympics.

Topics of the Olympic Games in Sochi and Luzhkov are actively discussed in the independent media, while the state-controlled media in Russia is trying to direct public attention towards inter-clan war of crime bosses. The fact that that Usoyan was in Abkhazia is no accident either as from there it is easier to manage Sochi "obshak".

Abkhazia is not only a black hole for by Russian officials to launder money, but also an excellent springboard for arms and drugs trafficking. The Club of Experts wrote about this more than once.

It is believed that Usoyan as well as the Abkhazian elite are part of the presidential race in Russia. And if, in principle, everything is clear with Ded Khasan the situation with the Abkhazian elite is much more complicated. We can assume that neither Bagapsh, nor anyone in his puppet government is pleased with this situation. But then, that's why they are puppets to be controlled by others. The thing is that there are two puppeteers there and each began to pull strings towards himself. Probably trips of Putin and Medvedev in Sukhumi are connected to this - for local appointees to work on a right man and to know whom to send votes of Abkhazian citizens of Russia on election day.

This view best explains the events with Luzhkov and the clan of criminal authorities that supports Putin. This version is also confirmed by wife of the head of Moscow Elena Baturina, according to whom some want to remove the Mayor because he could be dangerous for the Kremlin during preparations for the presidential elections of 2012. Baturina said that there are people in the administration of President Medvedev who fear that during the elections Yuri Luzhkov will side with not incumbent president but with Prime Minister Putin.

Thus, Russian leaders are using in their political games both political figures and the criminal world which is tied financially with those in power. The big question is who is more "vor v zakone". Is it Ded Khasan or a person who have entrusted the Olympic finances to him? Probably, in the course of this war many heads will roll, many will lose their cushy positions and accumulated capitals. So Abkhazia will be plunged into troubled times as many financial and property interests of Russian officials intersect there. It will be enough just to imagine what will happen to the entire real estate in Abkhazia that is controlled by Luzhkov, after the mayor of Moscow will lose political support of his business. We will witness many more interesting events connected with the fight for top position in the Kremlin.
