North Caucasian workers and militants who took an active part in the war against Georgians in August 2008 and who are now placed in the occupied territory of Tskhinvali region are demanding from the puppet regime to give them lands in Tskhinvali and Georgian villages of the Big Liakhvi gorge with a right of subsequent settlement.
Chechen citizens who are working in the region under the contract are actively considering an issue of settlement in the village of Kurta of the gorge and demanding from local authorities a right of settling in this village as well as granting them permission to build there a mosque with regards to which local Ossetian population expresses great displeasure.
Given the above, the local authorities have not yet stated their final decision. However, taking into account the promise given by Kokoity and his entourage to North Caucasians before military actions against Georgia, there is no doubt that Ossetians will have make concessions to some of their demands.
This fact indicates that in the near future leaders of the regime in Tskhinvali will have to "settle" another serious problem because, as noted earlier, Ossetian population, which for various reasons, was forced to emigrate to North Ossetia in the nineties of the last century have long been eyeing Georgian lands and houses in the Liakhvi Gorge.
