Georgia calls upon the Council of Europe to recognize Abkhazia and Tskhinvali as occupied territories

A delegation of Denmark of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe arrived in Georgia with a working visit.

As it became known to the Club of Experts, the Georgian side intends to put before the delegation of PACE a question of using terms such as "occupied territories" with regards to Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region and "ethnic cleansing" with regards to actions carried out by Russia towards Georgians on the occupied territories.

During the visit the delegation will hold meetings with Chairman of Georgian Parliament David Bakradze, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Alexander Nalbandov, parliamentary opposition and Head of the EU observer Mission in Georgia Hansjörg Haber.

The delegation will visit Gori, where they will meet with Governor of Shida Kartli region Lado Vardzelashvili and representatives of the EU monitoring mission. Plans also include visit to South Ossetian conflict zone.
