A fire broke out aboard of a Turkish cargo ship, which was anchored in Abkhazian section of Georgian territorial waters. One person was injured as a result of fire.

According to information that department of emergency situations of the separatist region told news agency Interfax cause of the fire, which at the moment is localized by the crew, is unknown.

"The rescue operation is complicated by the fact that there is very strong storm on the sea. When extinguishing fire one of the crew members - George Podbelsky, a native of Odessa - suffered serious burns. He was taken ashore and hospitalized, "- said the representative of department.

According to him, cargo ship that was sailing under the Turkish flag and was loaded with cement, also received two holes because of the storm along the way and is in need of repair.
