So-called "Foreign Minister" of the puppet regime of Abkhazia Sergei Shamba is fulfilling orders of the Kremlin, voicing an attempt of Russian occupants to accuse the U.S. and EU of pressurizing other countries. That was a comment made by the president of "the Club of Experts" Levan Kiknadze on Shamba's statement that " the EU and the U.S. are intimidating countries that are willing to consider recognition of the republic, with political consequences of such step and they do not realize that the recognition of other states is no longer a vital issue for Abkhazia ".

Kiknadze drew attention to an attempt of the chief Abkhazian diplomat to draw parallels with Kosovo. "Through Sergei Shamba the Kremlin is again trying to raise the subject of inexpediency of recognition of Kosovo - the expert said, - At that , Shamba claims that, in contrast to Kosovo, Abkhazia had the right to secede from Georgia, and refers to the adopted in the era of "perestroika" law of the USSR "On the procedure for solving problems related to the secession of a Union Republic from the USSR", which allowed autonomous republics to decide independently its state and legal status in case of seceding from the USSR ".

With this regard, Levan Kiknadze noted that "Shamba remembers the law well, but he says nothing about who and how should have solved the problem of Abkhazian secession from Georgian jurisdiction, and how legal aspects of this issue have been complied with. Sergei Shamba "forgets" that when addressing this vital issue, not only Georgian population of Abkhazia who amounted to 43% pf the whole popuklation of Abkhazia, but also a significant part of 17% Abkhazian population did not want to secede from Georgia. However Shamba in vain tries to pass the desire of a handful of separatists supported by armed forces and intelligence services of Russia, for the desire of the entire population of Abkhazia".
