"Suspected militants": a new practice of law enforcement agencies of Russia

Policemen shot a "suspected militant" dead in Dagestan. Report with this wording was issued by the press service of Interior Ministry of the Republic of Dagestan (Russian Federation). According to it, "on Tuesday on Salikhov Street in Makhachkala, policemen tried to detain Abdul Mirzahanov - a suspect in the attacks on policemen. Mirzakhanov opened fire at the policemen from a machine gun. Shots were exchanged, during which the alleged gunman was killed".

Meanwhile the search for the rebel groups, who on December 5th clashed with "silovilki" in Sergokalinskii district of Dagestan, killing one and wounding another policeman, was unsuccessful. Interior Ministry units that had come to the region discovered a rebel base, consisting of 15 beds, shelter and a warehouse with food. According to security officials, gas equipment was found that indicates to the long-term use of the base.
