NATO Secretary General: Georgia's territorial integrity is not subject to review

The question of territorial integrity of Georgia is not subject to revision, - said the Secretary General of NATO at a news conference in Brussels. Anders Fogh Rasmussen also said that the decision of the Bucharest summit remains in place and Georgia and Ukraine will definitely become members of NATO.

"The doors of the Alliance are open to countries that meet NATO standards, - said the Secretary General - Georgia and Ukraine will become members of the Alliance, but for this they should meet certain requirements." Rasmussen also thanked Georgians and Ukrainians for their participation in the peacekeeping operation in Afghanistan. "Georgia and Ukraine have played an important role in NATO's Afghan campaign, for which I must thank them," - said the Secretary-General.
