The Abkhazian regime intends to seek recognition of the so-called Abkhazian passports by "neighbouring countries", including Turkey. This was stated by foreign minister of the puppet regime Vyacheslav Chirikba at a meeting with the mayor of the Turkish town of Side Abdulkadir Uchar.

"Our goal is to bring the republic out of international isolation, and, hopefully, relations with Turkey will help the case," - said Chirikba.

At that Chirikba noted the role of "large Abkhazian diaspora in Turkey" in forging ties between Turkey and the occupied region of Georgia.
