Two residents of Abkhazia sentenced in Russia for illegal arms trade

In Sochi, two residents of occupied Abkhazia were sentenced to 11 and 10 years in the strict regime colony for smuggling weapons. Their accomplice has also received three years probation. Sentences were issued by Adler district court.

According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Russian Interior Ministry in the Southern Federal District, those three smuggled arms and ammunition into the territory of Krasnodar region across the Abkhazian section of the Georgian-Russian border.

They were detained red-handed last February by the workers of above-mentioned directorate together with workers of the district FSB department - during selling of five Kalashnikov assault rifles, two revolvers, a TT pistol and ammunition to them.
